Our Story

On March 7, 2025, Livie thought it was just a busy day. They had family pictures scheduled that afternoon, so she and her mom spent the morning together getting their makeup done. Just the night before, Livie had been running all over Paducah trying to find something to wear—no nails done, stressed, and telling her mom they should reschedule them for another time.

Pictures went smoothly, and afterward the plan was to briefly stop by Stella’s to grab a drink and stall for a few minutes while everything was being set up. In true Livie fashion, she sat down and leisurely ordered a caesar salad and a glass of pinot grigio, while Curry ordered an old fashioned that he finished in about 0.2 seconds, and Livie’s mom frantically texted everyone their new timeline.

Then Curry casually mentioned that one of their friends was at the 1857 Hotel and suggested they stop by to see him. They walked there hand in hand, talking about the day. Curry had the biggest smile on his face—one everyone else had been worried would give everything away.

As they turned the corner, they saw a sign that read “Marry Me.” But before they even made it all the way there, Curry was already down on one knee. Livie says all she remembers hearing is, “I love you, and you’re my best friend,” before everything else blurred. Curry later said he just couldn’t wait another second.

Then, one by one, their families came out from hiding to celebrate with them. The most meaningful part was that Livie’s late father was there to give Curry his blessing and witness their engagement. He truly loved Curry and was ecstatic for the two of them to start their lives together.

They both say it was the most special day of their lives, surrounded by the people they love most, and will always hold it close in their hearts.
